Guaitil Pottery & Rancho Los Coyotes

Guaitil, considered the major location in Costa Rica where they still make indigenous pottery with the same methods and materials used thousands of years ago.

Learn about an ancient tradition passed on generation to generation while you check out clay, tools and other materials that are used to make this unique type of pottery. You will also get the chance to purchase some ceramics to the local artisans during this tour.

Our next stop is lunch at Rancho Los Coyotes, with a charming restaurant that offers delicious recipes cooked on a wood-burning oven that offers a true gastronomic experience.

After lunch, take a quick cooking class to make handmade corn tortillas in an authentic clay wood oven or crush sugar cane in a old processing mill and taste real fresh sweet sugar cane juice.

At Rancho Los Coyotes, you can also walk around the surroundings to see goats, sheeps, pigs, horses and chickens. A truly local farming experience with the essence of Costa Rican culture.
