Nestled in the middle of a tropical jungle lies a true hidden jewel…a natural wonder of Costa Rica…Rio Celeste….. A river named for its pure aqua marine-blue waters and surreal celestial color where you will think that paradise really exists!!! A place where you will experience unique natural beauty!!
Hike for 3 ½ hours through lush rainforest along Celeste River to reach “Los Teñíderos” or “Stainers” where the water and minerals come together to form the turquoise blue water color that gives the river its name “Celeste.” Visit the blue lagoon and the thermal hot springs in a spectacular setting surrounded by tropical rain forest. Finally, hike down Celeste River to admire the astonishing Rio Celeste Waterfall with its magical bluish colors owed to a natural byproduct of two muddy streams, which gets its coloring from a mix of sulfur and the calcium carbonate.
A traditional lunch will be served at a Restaurant near the park.
Please note: During rainstorms, the river or waterfall may turn from a spectacular blue to a chocolate brown color. No refunds in heavy rain or bad weather conditions that may affect the river blue color.
