The easy to moderate mountain biking tour is a 7 mile ride through the historic Calle Real, just south of the city. This old road was used by cowboys and oxcarts to transport groceries and crops in and out of Liberia back in the colonial days.
The tour begins right in downtown Liberia with a basic technique class conducted by experts mountain biking instructors on a full suspension bike. You will then head south down Calle Real crossing some creeks and riding through some forest covered hills and teak plantations. After a fun 7 mile ride you will go back through a different, just as enjoyable, road.
Then, there is the moderate to intermediate mountain biking tour. This one tour begins in downtown Liberia with an introductory class and then takes you through a longer 25 mile adventure featuring 1600 feet of elevation change and goes by some incredible canyon trails with limestone mountain tracks formed thousands of years ago by massive volcanic eruptions. This one tour really will put the adventure in your Costa Rica adventure vacations.
